Balance, Focus & Foundation – 09 February 2020

You can not take on the enemy, if you don’t have rock solid balance, focus or a foundation.

A rugby player can’t take on his opponent without balance.   The second his opponent comes for the ball, he will fall in the tackle.   He wont even be able to run with the ball without proper balance.

Have you ever felt like everything is happening at the same time?  Lost a job, lost a loved one, broken marriage…  what happens if two or more of these challenges come at the same time?

When David took on Goliath, he had balance, focus and a rock solid foundation.  His balance, foundation and focus was only on God.  You can have strength, but without God as your balance, focus and foundation, you will still fall – like Goliath did with all his strength.

I stood next to my dad’s lifeless body, and my knees gave in.  The trauma took all my strength I had left out, of me.   Prior to that, exactly 9 months to the day, the trauma was from one extreme to the other.   I couldn’t even run, my legs didn’t allow me to.    I only had one thing left in me – God’s promise.    The promise that He will never let me down.

Hebrews 12:2 teaches us that we must clear the path for our race.  The race of life.  We must look unto Jesus and let Him be our focus.

Hebrews 12:2
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”

Do you remember when Jesus was in the dessert, and everything He had to endure?   He had faith and focus.  His balance was His Father, our God.

Where is your focus?  On what is your balance?  And what is your foundation?   In this life all sorts of traumas will come our way, but we must stand firm in God.  On His rock solid foundation.  There is nothing that can make you fall further than your knees, when your foundation is God.  Then all His amazing promises are what we live by.

Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous!  Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” What an amazing promise it is, when we are strong and courageous, knowing that we are not alone, God is with us wherever we go.
